Posted in New ranges
18th March 2014
This week is proving to be one of the busiest weeks for new stock arrivals that we have experienced in quite some time.
With several new stock lines all becoming available from production at the same time, we are experiencing a very busy period within our goods in ( import) department.
With at least two containers a day booked in for every day of this week, and more to follow next week, the new ranges are starting to fill the spaces allocated for them in the warehouse. Paul and Tony are busy getting the material off the trucks and containers, checking it thoroughly and then placing the pallets in to the picking locations and the bulk stock locations. Typically a new range will have between 5 and 10 pallets of each colour and size as an initial stock holding, with one pallet placed in the picking location and bulk stock above it. There will also be a substantial reserve kept in the manufacturing plant to enable the first re- order shipment to be supplied promptly and usually in the same production batch for shade and calibration.
