Designed by Woulfe is led by Irish born, London-based Managing & Creative Director Brian Woulfe, who founded the company in 2009. His diverse and award-winning work includes interior design and development projects for private clients, property developers and commercial clients across Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific regions.
In the UK, Brian and the team have worked on numerous standout projects in and around central London, the Home Counties and further afield, some of which have featured tiles from Minoli’s porcelain and ceramic collections in the beautifully appointed bathrooms and ensuites of period and prime properties.
One such example is the ‘Cosy Yet Luxurious, Beloved Family Home’, a substantial residence in West London’s Notting Hill, the full renovation of which was undertaken by Designed By Woulfe. The brief was to create an inner-city sanctuary that was as luxurious as it was comforting, while providing the perfect environment to create beautiful memories as a family and when entertaining guests.
Exemplifying that theme of luxury, adjoining the old-world design guest bedroom with striking cobalt jungle wallpaper, the contemporary ensuite features extra-large porcelain slabs of the marble-effect, Marvel Calacatta Extra, in expansive 160/320 dimensions that offer uninterrupted floor to ceiling coverage on the generous shower enclosure walls. In a meticulously Matt finish, with coordinating floor tiles, the soft background and high-definition veining brings depth and movement to the room.
In the children’s bathroom, designed in a ‘Jack & Jill’ style to connect the playroom and bedroom, Minoli Gemstone Terrazzo in the White colourway has pebble-like inclusions that provide a neutral but visually interesting canvas that complements the green, yellow and blue tones used on the walls and vanity units. These premium porcelain tiles, in a Matt finish and rectified 60/60 dimensions, have been expertly applied to the floor and walls, in the shower enclosure and bath surround. The resulting environment is purposefully playful but will remain fresh and in vogue for years to come.
Throughout this substantial family home, we see inspiration from boutique hotel design but with a strong sense of familiarity and real home comforts, achieved with a carefully curated combination of high-quality, elegant interiors with a depth of rich textures to bring about a sense of approachability, tactility and comfort.
Our thanks go to Brian and his studio team for specifying porcelain tiles from the Minoli Contemporary Essentials Collection in this perfectly presented property and you can see more of the Design By Woulfe project portfolio on their website here and on Instagram @designedbywoulfe_
