Galvanised by a strong performance and positive signals from their core client base, Minoli – the specialist tile distributor – has continued to invest to uphold and improve the levels of service they offer.
Despite rising costs in raw materials, energy and transport, the Minoli team has focussed on operating more efficiently and effectively, so as to be able to maintain their very competitive pricing structure whilst still strengthening their stock, supply and service capabilities.
Managing Director, Jonathon Minoli said, “We are definitely seeing a measurable upturn in business this year, particularly amongst our house builder and developer clients. There seems to be a real determination to reverse the slowdown and create some momentum.
“Not only are we seeing increased demand for our new and established tile collections, but also a higher expectation in terms of the levels of support and service we provide. As such, we’re listening, adapting and working in partnership with our customers to grow our infrastructure accordingly”.
By way of example, as much of Minoli’s most sought after tile ranges are produced on the continent, in order to manage the usual supply dip created by the European factories’ summer shutdown, the Minoli buying team have significantly increased pipeline orders to ensure peak levels of UK warehouse stock by mid-July.
Alongside increased headcount in the administration team, another new driver has also been recruited to the team and will help maximise the use of the expanding truck fleet and increase delivery capacity.
Minoli’s new flagship 18T truck – proudly bearing registration ‘M1 NOL’ – is being increasingly used for daily duties, and the two of the new 16T trucks, which only went on the road this month, have been working at near capacity since arriving, with the third one due during August.
Jonathon added, “Overall, the first half of 2012 has been a busy time for the team here at Minoli. We’ve continued to make significant investments in launching exciting new product ranges, upgrading our delivery fleet and carrying more inventory so as to be able to continually improve the levels of support and service that we offer”.
