It was almost ten years ago, in November 2012, that Minoli first launched our complementary inside / outside ranges, with coordinating designs specifically produced with extra grip surfaces for use outdoors on patios, terraces, pathways and balconies.
Today’s porcelain tiles are more durable and colourfast, stain and slip resistant than ever. Porcelain is an extremely dense material and, with near zero porosity, the surface is almost impenetrable to water and dirt, and extremely resilient to frost damage. What’s more, new manufacturing processes allow for 20mm+ thicknesses to be produced, resulting in tiles with a much greater load bearing that are simply ideal for external use.
The popularity of porcelain tiles, and specifically those for outdoor use, is only set to increase and, working closely with the leading production plants in Italy and across Europe, we here at Minoli are often first to market with the latest new styles, colours and sizes.
Minoli Outdoor tile collections include an array of finishes from minimalist concrete, sawn wood and marble effect, and today we focus on two new ranges that add to those emulating organic stone.
The Minoli Norde Series
Tiles in the Norde Series are inspired by natural quartzite stones that, through a varied mineral composition, feature colour change and movement as light plays across their structured surfaces. These are truly technically advanced tiles, with particular product strengths being the detailed graphics, varied shades, rich colours and the authentic interpretation of the original material.
In a 20mm thickness, as stock lines, Norde Outdoor is available in two sizes including 60/90 and 80/80, so providing options for alignment with indoor flooring and of a generous scale with rectified edges to enhance the appearance of continuity. The textured finish has a slip-resistance rating of R11 and, whilst the surface structure has the visual appeal of rough stone, it’s easy to clean and pleasing to touch.
Both sizes are available from stock* in two colourways which are: Magnesio – a warm ivory base with flecks of gold and pale pewter patterning; and Platino – a bright, light grey with flashes of silver and smoky streaks.
Also in the Norde Outdoor Series and available for special order is a further colour, Oro – with a sandy tone and pockets of ochre and iron oxide. Additional sizes of 60/60 and 60/120 can also be ordered for all three colourways, delivery lead times for which we can advise in liaison with the production plants.
The Minoli Aix Range
Aix-en-Provence is nestled in the hills above the Mediterranean and, if you’ve ever strolled its streets, you’ll find this collection reminiscent of the beautiful stonework villas of the region.
In the Minoli Aix Series we find the perfect symbiosis between nature and architecture, with an organic appearance but precision production techniques that create the highest performing porcelain.
The Minoli Aix Outdoor range comes in three warm and welcoming tones. Aix Blanc is sandy with brighter, lighter accents and tints of taupe. Aix Beige is more bronzed, with a biscuit base layer, tan and toffee tones. Aix Cendre is smouldering with a palette mix from mushroom to mink.
All three colourways are available from stock* in the 60/90 format, with 20mm thickness, R11 slip resistance and a crisp rectified edge.
Also available for special order are Aix Blanc Outdoor in a 120/120 format and Aix Beige and Cendre in the 120/120, plus a 60/60 version as well.
Making the most with Minoli Outdoors
As the weather warms and our attention turns to the garden, this is a great time to be planning an outdoor project, be that a patio replacement, new entertaining areas or an outdoor kitchen installation.
Many of our existing indoor ranges have coordinating versions with structured or grip finishes suitable for external application. The new Norde and Aix products extend our ranges of 20mm thick porcelain pavers, which includes other stock collections such as the concrete effect Flux and pebble-patterned Norway**.
More so than ever from our corporate clients, residential customers and wholesale partners, we are seeing increased demand for ranges suitable for complementary indoor and outdoor application, as well as expansive, large format / XL tiles and slabs that create more seamless finishes and transitions between spaces.
The Minoli range of Outdoor 20mm Porcelain is being extended greatly in the coming months, ready for the summer, with even more new and exciting ranges to be added to the collection as stock ranges, held in the Minoli UK warehouse.
