Arna Maria Kristjansdottir of Arna Interior Design has chosen ranges from Minoli’s extensive Contemporary Essentials Collection in the design schemes for the comprehensive refurbishment of the ‘powder rooms’ at her client’s impressive country home in Beaconsfield.
Featured in two of the exquisite ensuites within this substantial seven-bedroom house, we see traditional marble-effect porcelain tiles contrasted with more modern and boldly coloured products to create truly unique combinations of finishes.
In one of the luxurious bathrooms, the mellow golden tones within the delicate veining of Minoli Marvel Royal Calacatta 60/60 are complemented by the use of bright, polished brass fittings to bring a sense of opulence to the décor.
The walls of the shower enclosure are clad in Minoli Luminous Lume Green. In a striking metro tile format, this range is characterised by exquisite shade variation which brings such authenticity to the design, enhanced by the effect of oxidised edges and a hand-crafted appearance.
In the other ensuite, the majestic Minoli Marvel Imperial White 60/60 has been used in gloss and matt finishes, on wall and floors respectively, to create an almost cloud-like composition. This soft and subdued marble-effect tile has a layered, tone-on-tone appearance that delivers subtle movement as light plays across the surface.
Within the shower enclosure and in feature alcoves, Minoli Cosmopolitan Amazzonite is used to dramatic effect with hints of turquoise, oxidised iron and slate. The expansive 80/80 format of this generous-sized tile delivers a near seamless finish and the luxury design is again enhanced with brilliant brass taps and trims.
Advancements in the production of marble-effect porcelain tiles for 2023 include a wider variety of sizes with extended lines of extra-large formats that allow uninterrupted floor to ceiling coverage, a wider availability of different finishes including polished, matt, slip-resistant and hammered, plus different thicknesses specifically for use on walls and floors, inside and outdoors.
From a visual perspective, the leading designers in the industry have drawn inspiration from the most sought-after classical marble, as well as interpreting new directions with modern lines and striking colour combinations. Higher-definition graphics, muted and mellow backgrounds, vivid and varied veining, and new techniques in transparent layering produce designs with unprecedented depth.
