Founded in 1991, Rectory has an established reputation for selecting the very best locations throughout the Home Counties and North London and constructing homes of outstanding quality and superior specification.
The Founder and Executive Chairman of Rectory, Simon Vickers, has had a longstanding relationship with Jonathon Minoli and the team for nearly 35 years and Minoli have been the ‘go to’ provider for all their porcelain and ceramic tile needs, advising, helping specify and reliably delivering to Rectory sites throughout Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Hertfordshire and Middlesex.
One such distinctive development is The Crescent, set within picturesque historic parkland, just steps from the centre of the thriving market town of Thame, near Oxford. Just recently winning a coveted award for Residential Development of the Year at this year’s Thames Valley Property Awards, each home has been designed in collaboration with Yiangou Architects of Cirencester and are built to emulate the 19th century ‘rus in urbe’ (country in the city) architectural style, for which the World Heritage cities of Bath and Edinburgh are renowned.
With accommodation arranged over 3 floors, with 4 or 5 bedrooms, including a self-contained studio/office/home-gym annexe over a double garage, these are truly exceptional properties with private courtyard gardens, generous balconies, picture windows and bi-fold doors to bring the outside in.
The show home perfectly demonstrates the exacting attention to detail that Rectory apply to all their properties – in this instance, bespoke fitted kitchens with state-of-the-art appliances, beautifully crafted joinery, luxuriously appointed bathrooms and ensuites, as well as a focus on energy efficiency with air source heat pump systems and high-specification glazing.
Another signature feature is the use of premium tile series from the Minoli portfolio of Italian porcelain stoneware. Take for instance the statement entrance hallway, with expansive bi-fold doors to the garden, and throughout the remarkable kitchen and dining area with dual aspect views of the garden and grounds.
Here Minoli Boost Stone has been expertly laid in the White colourway and a generous 60/120 format, to create an almost seamless surface, flowing continuously throughout the ground floor. Inspired by limestone extracted from the French Pyrenees, the notable features of this series are the extreme realism of design, the subtle multi-tone layers of shading and crisp rectified edges for ease of alignment.
Another standout part of this stunning residence is the master bedroom ensuite, in which the magnificent marble effect of Marvel Calacatta Extra brings an indulgent opulence to the setting, alongside the oval freestanding bath, crisp white and warm wood vanity units and twin-basins, and glistening chrome fixtures.
The pure background of the Calacatta Extra design, softened with sporadic touches of neutral beige alongside natural grey veining, complements the room’s colourways and has been applied in a 60/120 size to the walls to full height, in a reflective Polished / Lapatto finish, and to the floors with a Matt / Natural variant, to provide a little extra grip underfoot. Within the sizeable, walk-in shower enclosure, the tiling has been precisely cut to accommodate the integrated drainage, adding to the impression of a near-seamless surface.
With Marvel Moon Onyx and Marvel Travertine Pearl also showcased in the elegant ensuite guest bathrooms, these delightful, design-led homes are excellent examples of how various series from the Minoli Contemporary Collection can be installed to deliver continuity through adjoining and open-plan spaces or to elevate the atmosphere in individual rooms.
Congratulations to all the team at Rectory for their awards success and our thanks for specifying tiles from Minoli’s collections in these perfectly presented properties. You can see more of their current portfolio on their website here: www.rectory.co.uk/
We look forward to sharing news of more of their exciting developments in the near future.
