Based in Salisbury, Wessex Vehicle Services are commercial vehicle bodybuilders, representing UK engineering at its best, manufacturing bespoke bodywork for all body types and sectors, nationwide for over 35 years.
In a relationship now spanning over a decade, Minoli have turned to Wessex to construct and fit the rear cargo boxes on our fleet of DAF Trucks and to build the specialist bodies for our two new Minoli rigid curtainside variants.
Founded in 1988 by Nigel Mustill, Wessex Vehicle Services are proud of their heritage and reputation for quality, bespoke truck bodybuilding. Indeed, Nigel is still leading from the front as Managing Director, with Alex Watson carefully overseeing the daily operation to ensure the highest quality workmanship is maintained.
Wessex Vehicle Services manufacture bespoke bodywork that includes trucks for Retail Distribution, the Utilities market, Motorsport, Fine Art Transportation and Removals sectors. These state-of-the-art builds are carefully crafted at their 40,000 square foot factory, based near Salisbury, Wiltshire by a highly skilled bodybuilding team.
For Minoli, in addition to the already high levels of specification incorporated by DAF, Wessex complete our vehicles with cargo bays built of lightweight composite materials to maximise payloads and fuel efficiency, secure rear doors and tail lifts to ensure large quantities of tiles can be transported and unloaded safely, and features such as additional lighting to fully illuminate the cargo bay and tailgate platform.
For the latest additions to the Minoli fleet, a DAF 18T CF-260 and a DAF 26T CF-340, both rigid curtainsiders, Wessex constructed the rear body structures using galvanised materials which are bolted together to give flexibility in the bodywork. The full-length roof cantrails are pre-stressed to prevent the roof dropping and ensure clear side access for ease of loading.
For the 26T they also fitted the mountings for Minoli’s new Moffett forklift to enable more efficient unloading at our clients’ sites.
Their reputation on these bespoke builds is unrivalled and they showcase some of these remarkable builds on the Wessex website, here.
Our thanks go to Nigel Mustill, Alex Watson and all the team at Wessex Vehicle Services for ensuring we can reliably, safely and efficiently deliver ever-increasing payloads of porcelain and ceramic tiles to our clients throughout the Home Counties, Southern and Southeast England and across London.
