Minoli Supply Simpson & Voyle For Prestigious Properties

Angela Simpson and Laura Voyle founded their interior design business in 2013. Angela’s career began in theatre, designing sets and costumes, and Laura was an accomplished fashion designer, working with major high street brands in the UK and abroad. Theatre and fashion seemed the perfect fusion for an interiors studio and it’s this blend of design history and experience that underpins their unique approach to both private and commercial properties.

The Simpson & Voyle portfolio features enchanting interior designs for discerning homeowners, boutique businesses and celebrities, and today we’re featuring two stunning residences for which porcelain tiles from Minoli’s extensive collections were specified.

New House in North London is an impressively opulent residence offering over 11,000 sq ft of luxury accommodation. Working closely with the developers to provide a detailed interior architecture and design to every aspect of the house, the brief was to create a state-of-the art home that felt both contemporary and inviting.

This high-specification property includes five bedroom suites, each with dressing rooms and their own bathrooms, an open plan centrepiece living, dining and kitchen area with custom-designed units, a cocktail bar and wine cellars, a games room and cinema, plus a sumptuous spa with pool, steam room and therapy facilities.

One of the delightful and distinctive bathrooms features seamless slabs of Minoli Marvel Royal Calacatta, a technically advanced, marble-effect porcelain tile, inspired by the most exclusive and elegant Italian stoneware. The Royal Calacatta colourway has an almost cloud-like composition, with soft, subtle shading and delicately defined veining.

Creating a captivating feature wall around the sinks and vanity units, the exquisite Marvel Gold Hex Gris-Calacatta décor tile draws the eye with its hexagon pattern with shimmering gold and grey insets.

Another stand-out project in the Simpson & Voyle catalogue is Hertfordshire House, which saw the full refurbishment of a substantial, detached, mock Tudor residence with five bedrooms and bathrooms. Working alongside the architects, the commission was focused on sympathetically reconfiguring the layout to better suit the family’s evolving lifestyle.

As part of the remodelling, key changes included a generous new window which floods the hallway with light that sparkles off the oversized feature chandelier, and a full-height glass extension to the rear. Extending the property’s footprint into the expansive rear garden allowed for a larger kitchen, sitting room and the addition of en-suite bathrooms and a games room upstairs.

In one of the beautiful bathrooms, Marvel Bardiglio Grey covers the floor, bath side and half-height of the walls, creating a glamorous but graceful ambiance. With the irregular pattern of natural stone, resembling layered grey brushstrokes, the design of this tile was inspired by the slate-like markings of Bardiglio marble. This premium porcelain product, with crisp rectified edges, has been laid with precision to great effect.
