On the evening of Thursday 18th April, the team from Minoli were delighted to welcome some 75 attendees at their first ‘Women In Property Design & Development’ Event. Guests included interior designers and architects, and representatives from leading property development and housebuilding firms.
The event was held at the prestigious Home Grown private members’ club, part of the Home House group, on Great Cumberland Place, London, W1. Set in a stunning six story Georgian mansion, Home Grown is London’s leading business club and aims to provide entrepreneurial pioneers with unique resources to unlock the true value of their business potential.
In one of the beautiful first-floor salons, guests first enjoyed a choice of Bosco Coste Valdobbiadene Prosecco or the fresh and delicate Anna 6 white wine, both from the Santomè vineyards in Treviso, Italy and provided by Minoli’s go-to food and beverage supplier, Italian Continental of Maidenhead, Berkshire. A selection of delicious canapés were also prepared by Home Grown’s Head Chef, James Allan, including Spiced Samon Tartare, Taiwanese Crispy Chicken, Marinated Goats Cheese Tartlet and Home Grown’s renowned Slider Burgers.
Moving down to the main presentation suite, host for the evening, Lucy Minoli, then introduced our guest speaker, Samantha Day who, after a 30-year career as lead tax accountant and partner at KPMG, decided to change careers and become a successful motivational speaker and stand-up comedian. Samantha gave an inspiring presentation on ‘How to be heard – How to communicate’, offering insights into navigating the modern workspace, a woman in business.
Samantha’s presentation covered topics such as the characteristics of leaders, how to present and assert yourself, the importance of forging relationships in the workplace and how to build your own personal ‘brand’ image, with some invaluable tips to take away.
After the event, Lucy commented, “We’re delighted so many guests could join us this evening and our thanks to all the attendees. It’s exciting to see so many influential ladies in the property industry and I’m so pleased to have both welcomed familiar faces and met inspiring new contacts.
“Our thanks also to Samantha for delivering such an informative and entertaining talk, as well as teaching us a thing or two about communication, and to Claudia Cledwyn and the team a Home Grown for managing the event with their usual faultless finesse and flair.”
