Outdoor Porcelain Paving at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Looking at the news feeds from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the professional associations and media for the garden design and landscaping sector, there’s certainly a buzz in the air about the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Alongside obvious inclusions of natural stone and aggregates, it’s exciting to see several stands and award-winning gardens using porcelain pavers and tiles where a more technical aesthetic features in the desired design direction.

Whether used as paving for paths, hardstanding areas or water feature surrounds, or to clad structures to bring colour and height into show gardens, with an authentic organic appearance the production uniformity of porcelain allows for more precise placement in some very imaginative settings.

Reflecting on the theme of Restorative Gardens at this year’s show, porcelain paving is ideal for helping us all make better use of our outside spaces and breathe new life into patio areas so we can spend more time enjoying life outdoors, so contributing positively to our health and wellbeing. With new flexible fixing options, grippy slip-resistant surfaces and frost-proof properties, they can be easily installed and are easy to maintain, without the need for sealant or chemical treatments.

In addition, from an environmental perspective, porcelain paving is manufactured according to energy and water-efficiency criteria, and it is an environmentally friendly choice due to its long-lasting and recyclable characteristics. Furthermore, its production is ‘zero waste’, based on the use of natural and always reusable materials, and porcelain pavers do not contain any volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, PVC, plastics or petroleum derivatives.

With textures and tones that realistically emulate quarried stone, quartzite, marble, concrete, wood, or even those with metal-effect finishes, the creative options within the Outdoor By Minoli Collection are plentiful and purposefully produced to withstand the elements.

What’s more, with many of the Outdoor Collection having interior specifications to match, interior designers, housebuilders and property developers are also favouring coordinating porcelain tiles and pavers to create near-seamless transitions from inside living spaces to outdoor patios, terraces and pathways.

Launched as a brand-new series mid-last year, the Outdoor By Minoli Collection features 10 distinct ranges, comprising over 100 individual product lines, 36 of which we hold in plentiful UK stock, ready for prompt delivery. Beyond this extensive UK stockholding in our centrally located Oxford warehouse, such is the traction of this trend for optimising outdoor spaces, a further 80+ product lines are available for order from Minoli’s production partners in Italy.

As are often required to complete projects in outside settings, special pieces can also be ordered, such as edging, drainage, step treads and corner trims, and we can also arrange for the material to be delivered to a third-party finisher if required.
