Our increasing eagerness to cook and eat outside has fuelled impressive advancements in the design of outdoor kitchens. From what was once typified by basic barbeques being wheeled out when the weather permitted, homeowners and hospitality venues are now installing state-of-the-art cooking stations and enhanced garden entertainment spaces.
A whole new ecosystem of product providers now contributes to this growing segment of the ‘outdoor living’ industry. Operators in this space now include designers, manufacturers and installers of outdoor grills, ranges and wood-fired ovens, food and beverage refrigeration specialists, kitchen unit and counter vendors, exterior lighting, heating and audio/visual providers, plus manufacturers of weather-proof structures and pagodas.
The Outdoor by Minoli collection features exciting new ranges of 20 mm thickness porcelain tiles designed specifically for use outside, and ideal for paving outdoor kitchen and dining areas. With more slip-resistant, grippy surfaces, porcelain products have near zero porosity, making the surface almost impenetrable to water, dirt and oil, and extremely resilient to frost damage and intense sunlight.
Minoli Outdoor tile collections include an array of finishes from minimalist concrete, organic stone, wooden plank decking and even marble effects. Available in such a broad range of sizes, colours and textures, outdoor tiles provide a unique solution to any exterior design project.
Many of the exterior specification series also have coordinating interior tiles to match, so very consistent indoor to outside transitions can be achieved. We also stock a wide choice of complementary ranges that have different designs and colour palettes with compatible sizes. These can be laid to deliver visual alignment but also fulfil requirements for a greater step-change in surface, whether within blended schemes or to create bolder breakpoints.
A 9 mm thickness indoor tile, which may be matt or gloss and easy to clean, is paired with a grippy, 20 mm external counterpart with a higher anti-slip rating of R11. With outdoor paving now available in sizes up to 120/120, many of the Minoli series allow designers to achieve continuity of large format flooring through bi-fold doors to patios and terraces.
