Stone-Style Large Format Tiles & Slabs

Continuing our feature articles about large-format tiles and super-sized slabs, today we’re exploring the Minoli series with stone styles in fine Italian porcelain.

Perpetual refinements in the design of stone-effect porcelain tiles enable more seamless applications of this seminal material.

The latest collections feature sublimely smooth and delicately structured surface treatments, so remarkable continuity can be achieved across walls and floors, inside and outdoors. With fine graining or more pronounced patterning, and unprecedented modularity of size and finish, uninterrupted installations of porcelain stoneware, throughout built environments, are set to become more prevalent going forwards.

These expanding portfolios offer broader spectrums of colour. Beyond the more organic sandy beige, graphite grey and blackened basalt tones, the array available includes those with paler palettes of ivory, silver and pearl, warmer shades of coffee and caramel, and layered or pebble-patterned designs that contain ferrous flecks or coral inclusions, for instance.

The most significant advancements are however within the wider collections that, across a family of complementary sub-ranges, offer different surface designs but with coordinating colourways. When working with these extended series, a designer’s creativity is less constrained, even when there’s a set preference for a stone-look.

The Boost Collection

Within the broader Boost Collection, Boost Stone, Boost Mix, Boost Icor and Boost Mineral all benefit from larger sizes with which to realise the most technical and inventive interior designs.

Boost Stone – Delivers a clean, uniform stone surface with light tonal variations and subtle inclusions. Designed to integrate directly with concrete-look tiles, it offers an understated natural backdrop suitable for both residential and commercial projects.

Boost Mix – Inspired by the iconic Milanese conglomerate stone, Boost Mix stands out for its distinctive pebble-grain texture. It incorporates the appearance of embedded stones of varying sizes to create a dynamic, highly textured visual that works equally well as a dramatic focal point or a full-room finish.

Boost Icor – Encapsulates the warmth and authenticity of natural limestone. The collection is sought after for its realistic micro-detail, such as intricate inclusions, colour shifts and a graceful off-white palette with a delicately dappled background.

Boost Mineral – Inspired by the natural slate surfaces of the Ardennes, Boost Mineral offers a fine-textured, compact stone effect. It features subtle veining and micro-crystalline textures, balancing a rugged, natural feel with refined elegance for high-traffic or outdoor applications.

Depending on the series and colourway chosen, large format tiles sizes include 60/90, 60/120, 120/120 and 75/150, in a 9mm thickness and suitable for use on wall and floors.

In super-sized slab formats selected designs are available in 120/240 and 120/278 dimensions in a 6 mm thickness, primarily for use on walls, but also on floors where a suitable substrate is in place.

The Boost Collection also includes a wide choice or Outdoor Porcelain Pavers, with higher slip-resistance and manufactured in a durable 20 mm thickness, with a frost proof composition.

ReStone

This is a simply stunning collection of stone-effect porcelain tiles showcasing the perfect balance between aesthetics and environmental responsibility.

Combined with other essential natural raw materials, ReStone features tiles that contain over 60% pre- and post-consumer, recycled content, reclaimed from the processing procedure and firing cycle, so helping create a virtuous system that promotes the reuse of the component elements, reduces consumption and respects the environment.

ReStone reinterprets limestone extracted from the Vienne region, around Poitiers in Central-West France. Featuring a granular finish for uniformity and a delicate, marbled texture enriched by subtle, non-intrusive veins, the surface appears dotted with microfossils that add points of interest and chromatic depth to the collection.

As well as in more compact dimensions, ReStone is available in 80/80, 60/120 and 120/120 formats, as well as expansive 120/278 slabs for maximum continuity and cohesion.

Nyra

Nyra is a stone-effect collection designed to give shape to the idea of promoting well-being through architecturally designed spaces.

The surface of Nyra is not an imitation of natural materials, but an original surface developed with a biophilic approach and design sensitivity.

Nyra offers a complete system of surface solutions with which to realise the most imaginative and innovative designs, with standard sized and large format floor and wall tiles, super-size slabs, as well as multiple variants of outdoor porcelain pavers.

Large format tile sizes include 80/80, 60/120, 120/120 and 75/150 sizes depending on the design chosen, and slab designs include 120/240 and 120/278 dimension with which to create near-continuous surfaces.

Norway, Norde and Bravestone

With playful, pebble-effects and those with the look of more rugged Quartzite, the Norway, Norde and Bravestone Series feature tiles in 60/120, 120/120 and 75/150 sizes, and Norway features extra-large slabs in 120/278 and 160/320 dimensions.

Other more standard sizes and Outdoor porcelain pavers in an 80/80 size are also available, so more seamless surfaces can be achieved in the same design style across different residential and commercial spaces.
