An excellent example of their flair for distinctive design and architectural excellence is the recently completed Old Albert Mews in Englefield Green. This particularly attractive development includes a remarkable variety of accommodation and architectural styles for such a small collection of homes. Choices range from a 2-bedroom apartment to 3, 4 and 5-bedroom houses, each built over two or three levels and all enjoying a private garden and parking.
Built for modern living, each home is networked for a range of media connectivity, the stylish kitchens include high quality appliances for aesthetic appeal and ease of use and the cloakrooms, ensuites and bathrooms all feature contemporary designer sanitaryware.
Creating unquestionable kerb appeal, at the front of the development stand three impressive Victorian-styled houses of welcoming red brick construction. To create a ‘Wow!’ at the entrance and in the hallways of these substantial, stand-out residences, tiles from the Minoli De-Segni series were specified. With pronounced block-print patterns, their distinctive design makes a strong statement about the inspirational interior design direction applied throughout these properties.
The houses on both Victoria Street and within the courtyard location off Albert Road feature a thoughtful balance of open-plan and traditionally designed accommodation. The home’s hub, a fabulous kitchen and dining / family area, affords flexible living space, which accesses a south-facing terrace and private garden, from a wall of folding glazed doors. These luxuriously appointed areas are finished with Tree-Charme wood-effect tiles laid in herringbone-style giving a warm and practical ambience.
The well-planned and generously proportioned bathrooms of the development are finished in a variety of Minoli ranges including the stone-effects of Sintesis, Dafne and Eternity, the wood-look of Tree-Charme, Lira which emulates natural marble, the travertine tones of Temple Stone and the clay-like qualities of Newpark. This carefully curated and complementary selection of larger format floor tiles, ceramic and porcelain wall tiles and textured décor ranges ensures that each bathroom has a character of its own.
The attractive mews style apartment, located in the courtyard, offers both practical and innovative living space. Its ground floor entrance directs you to an integral garage including utility space, which also leads to a private, south-facing walled garden. The first floor provides open-plan living space and two good sized bedrooms.
This apartment provided the opportunity for Runnymede to explore new tile choices to distinguish this home from the other residences in the development. In the kitchen/living room the timber-effect Dockwood tile in the Cold Grey colourway was laid to the floor and in the two bathrooms, with the natural veining of Italian marble, Marvel Calacatta Prestigio was specified adding a contemporary twist to the design.
