The Progression of the Minoli Preview Events

As we look forward to the annual Minoli Preview Event and Christmas Celebrations on 7^th December, we were reflecting on how the event format has evolved over the past 14 years.

While some aspects have become regarded as traditional staples, our aim is to always introduce something new and exciting each year to keep the format fresh.

For instance, Home House private members club on London’s Portman Square, W1 has become the established venue, but at this Thursday’s Preview there will be new entertainment and a brand-new menu of canapes, for instance.

Working closely with the events management team at the club led by Claudia Cledwyn, the pre-event preparation process has become well-practiced and polished, since the inaugural Home House Preview on 21^st November 2011. This will be the 11^th occasion that the Minoli Preview has enjoyed the exclusive use of No 21 Portman Square, with a gap in the programme due to the Covid years, and we’re delighted to see acceptance levels peaking once more.

The event themes, which are led by the product launches for the following year have included: ‘Interno / Esterno’ – which celebrated the first coordinated indoor /outdoor ranges, ‘Make It Big’ – which featured the emergence of extra-large format tiles, ‘Evolution Revolution’ – when we marked the arrival of the Evolve collection, and ‘A Mid-Winter’s Dream’ which launched the Marvel Dream series.

The entertainment has also expanded over the years as the event has grown. Since the early days, we have always enjoyed the Christmassy carol singers from St George’s Church, Hanover Square and cabaret duo Verity & Violet who always help get the event into full seasonal swing.

More recently, the joint has been jumping to the high-energy four-piece band The Anthemics, who fill the floor with a range of rousing rock and pop covers, and there will be another new act joining the troupe this year as Libby T brings a set of her soulful R&B vocals.

The Minoli Preview event gives us an opportunity to gather with our friends, clients, suppliers and team, to celebrate the end of another enjoyable year and to look forward with optimism to the next.
