Tile Association Awards 2015
Birmingham, April 2015 The Tile Association Awards
On the evening of Saturday April 18th, the great and the good of the British Ceramic Tile Industry , together with international visitors, gathered at the prestigious St Johns Hotel in the suburb of Solihull part of the United Kingdoms Second City Birmingham.
The night, which celebrated the past year within the industry and those individual people and companies striving to drive the reputation of those working with ceramic and porcelain into the forefront of the British home improvement and building market.
2015 , marks a significant anniversary for The Tile Association, which celebrates 15 years in its current form, having evolved from other tile related trade organisations, such as the NATD, which merged to form one organisation, to represent the very best within the British Tile Industry.
2015, also marks the 55th year of Minoli, a significant anniversary and one which they are delighted to have marked with a further recognition by The Tile Association but receiving another major award at the ceremony on April 18th.
For the fifth consecutive year, Minoli were presented with the award, which given the nature of their business is regarded as the most important and prestigious, Excellence In Distribution.
To win this award, those nominated and eventually shortlisted have to clearly demonstrate their professionalism and dedication to a part of the tile industry, which is far from glamouros and involves ensuring on a daily, almost hourly basis an extremely high level of service to clients which include predominantly the independent retail sector, as well as developers, house builders and contractors.
Jonathon Minoli, Managing Director of Minoli said of this further award ” I am truly delighted that Minoli are be able to receive this award from The Tile Association, for the fifth consecutive year, which is a record for any company in any category. This is all down to the hard work and dedication of every single member of the Minoli team. We felt that our submission to the committee and ultimately to the judges was very strong, as it relayed to them as best we could our commitment to Distribution and the clients it serves. We were finalists for the Floor Tile of the Year with the Marvellous Marvel Series, which has been a tremendous success in the market place already, where it is being utilised very much in the place of marble and stone.”
The award was presented to Minoli on the night and collected by Sophie Weitz, who manages the design and marketing department within Minoli, commenting on the 5th award ” obviously we are delighted to have another award from our trade association, especially the most prestigious of them all, Distribution. I was a little surprised that we were not a finalist for the marketing award, as I felt our submission based on Social Media was very strong, but perhaps not what the judges are looking for in tile marketing”
Minoli, established in 1960, celebrating 55 years of customer service, and a further award from The Tile Association…. Just one last comment from Jonathon ” I think we are going to need a bigger trophy cabinet!”
