As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations for the Minoli London showroom, artist and interior designer, Rebecca Tucker, was asked to work on a commission painting that would take pride of place in Minoli’s Head Office.
Rebecca’s work has been exhibited in various exhibitions across the UK, California and Italy, she has had paintings hung in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Mall Galleries and the Royal Academy of West England.
The brief from Jonathon was for a painting in Rebecca’s own signature style that would also reference George Street in Marylebone in some way, the location of the Minoli London showroom.
The finished painting was revealed at a prestigious event at Home House on Portman Square, London, W1, last week on 12th September. Over 100 guests joined Jonathon and the Minoli Team for an evening co-hosted by Paul Denning and the Yamaha Racing World Superbike team.
The event centred on a panel discussion, compered by former British Touring Car Championship winning driver and television commentator, Tim Harvey. The audience was first treated to a live-feed video link to Ampito Pata Prometeon Yamaha team rider, Beatriz Neila, from the Circuit Paul Ricard, north of Toulon in the south of France.
The conversation then turned to a guest we were privileged to have in attendance, Jonathan Rea, six-time World Championship winning rider and the most successful participant in the history of the FIM Superbike World Championship.
After the panel discussion, Rebecca and Tatia Rea (Jonathan’s wife) unveiled the painting to the applause of the assembled audience. The painting features the carved lions and corbels from the façade of the George Street showroom, a landscape that represents Minoli’s Italian roots, a street scene of George Street, and then pieces drawn from the foliage along the road that closely reflect the calm and contemplative feel that Rebecca likes to include in her work.
Rebecca was presented with flowers and thanked by Jonathon, and the artwork is now in place at Minoli’s headquarters.
