In the second of our series looking at the intersection of tile trends and home design innovations, we feature two that are principally focused on new product developments outside the home.
Outdoor Kitchens
From what was once typified by rusty old briquette barbeques being wheeled out when the weather permitted, our increasing eagerness to cook and eat outside has fuelled impressive advancements in the design of outdoor kitchens.
A whole new ecosystem of product providers now contributes to this growing segment of the ‘outdoor living’ industry. Operators in this space now include designers, manufacturers and installers of outdoor grills, ranges and wood-fired ovens, food and beverage refrigeration specialists, kitchen unit and counter vendors, exterior lighting, heating and audio/visual providers, plus manufacturers of weather-proof structures and pagodas.
The new Outdoor collection by Minoli features exciting new ranges of 20mm+ thickness porcelain tiles designed specifically for use outside, and ideal for paving outdoor kitchen areas. With more slip-resistant, grippy surfaces, porcelain products have near zero porosity, making the surface almost impenetrable to water, dirt and oil, and extremely resilient to frost damage and intense sunlight.
Minoli Outdoor tile collections include an array of finishes from minimalist concrete, organic stone, sawn wood and even marble effect. Available in such a broad range of sizes, colours and textures, outdoor tiles provide a unique solution to any exterior design project.
Slim-line & Sliding Doors
Since the advent of bi-folding patio doors, there has been a quest for slimmer and sleeker sliding and folding door solutions that seamlessly retract from sight.
The latest innovations include automation for residential, soft closure and anti-pinch, automatic ventilation and anti-glare or shading activation. New frame materials or frameless designs, the latest folding / sliding mechanisms, and advancements in glass technology mean more expansive, uninterrupted views can be achieved without compromising on insulation, structural integrity, or security.
Many of the ranges in the Minoli Outdoor collection are available with complementary indoor versions to match. Alongside this new door and glazing technology, a near seamless indoor-outdoor transition can be achieved using a 9mm indoor tile that is internally slip resistant and easy to clean, coordinated with an external counterpart that has higher slip rating surface, such as those ranging R11 to R13. Now available in 20mm+ thicknesses, outdoor porcelain tiles are more durable and desirable that ever.
