With a longstanding reputation for supporting automotive manufacturers in achieving consistency of corporate identity, nationally and internationally, Minoli were delighted to supply another car maker with specialist porcelain tiles.
New brand entrant in the UK automotive market, BYD – Build Your Dreams – and UK distributor Stratstone – a Pendragon brand, now owned by Lithia UK – opened this flagship store on Berkeley Square in Mayfair, London last year, and we are excited to be able to now share professional photography of the finished facility.
Conceived by Taylor Design Architects, who are Brand Architects for a select group of premium automotive manufacturers, this ingeniously designed store occupies the ground and basement floors of a multi storey building in the Mayfair conservation area. The bespoke design for this scheme focuses on promoting BYD’s cutting-edge automotive technology and the juxtaposition of the old and new have been emphasised with the clean-cut modern interior against the Georgian exterior.
This is a beautifully appointed, boutique two car showroom with both private and semi-private consultation areas and set over two floors. With the display area presenting itself at street level, diffused lighting has been used to highlight the cars to passers-by.
As a cutting edge all-electric brand, currently on display are the BYD Seal – a sleek and technologically advanced sports saloon, and the BYD Atto 3 – a dynamic C-SUV with a sporty and aerodynamics design.
As the perfect platform on which to showcase these remarkable vehicles, the Minoli CLY series, with a matt surface, has been expertly laid in a generous, rectified 80/80 format to create a flawless, concrete-effect finish. Within this presentation area, high tech LED lighting and backlit image panels reveal the layered tonal design of these premium, porcelain tiles.
Moving to the lower ground floor area, providing the main client consultation and hospitality facilities, the natural wood-effect porcelain planks of the ODH range, with a softly brushed treatment, creates a warm and welcoming environment. Here we find luxurious, bespoke sofas and mixed seating in which to relax or configure your ideal BYD on the large screen displays. The linear 20/120 format, with precision rectified edges, and pale palette of the ODH collection, seemingly expands the space of this remarkable retreat.
Our thanks go to the teams at Taylor Design Architects and BYD for specifying these Minoli porcelain tile series, and to the team at Stratstone, to whom we also supplied tiles for their BYD Birmingham and Milton Keynes locations.
